Walker Martin was
raised in the Coachella Valley by an interior designer mother and an
architect/builder father. With a strong base in construction, Walker trekked to
Alaska for the adventure of commercial fishing, attaining the positions of deck
boss and engineer on multiple vessels over a seven year span.
After fishing Mr.
Martin founded and ran WalkerStone, a wholesale stone brokering company in
Seattle, WA. Dealings in stone ultimately led him to Spain where Walker lived
for five years engaged in the export of goods to the United States, as well as following his hobby of metal sculpture, fabrication, and aluminum casting. Making creative and hard to find reproductions of parts & pieces for friends and customers with his home made foundry capable of attaining heat as high as 2000F, he was able to become a useful go-to person in the community for solutions ranging from restaraunt equipment to vehicle parts.
In 2003, Upon returning to the U.S. Walker was presented with the opportunity to help build a new explosives company, Nonex
Systems USA. With a perfect mix of physical labor, complex
problem solving, adrenaline, and responsibility, the explosives industry’s
demands are complimentary to the skill sets he posesses. In 2006, Walker became
the primary U.S. lead Blaster for the international industrial explosives company
On-Line Cleaning LLC; his experiences and knowledge gained working on industrial plants
is invaluable to the future of the company, and in understanding the deleterious effects explosives have on materials & structures.
Due to more stringent
regulations, the introduction of a new drilling & blasting company is a rare
occurrence, and C.L. Martin & Sons Hard Rock Blasting & Breaking
Division is a testament to the dedication and drive you can expect from Walker
Martin, President.
